kids in my hood are packing heat

Why don't we stick to melee weapons and kung fu?

So, I'm on my way to get some pollo ala brasa in my neighborhood, and bad vibes are tingling like Spidy-senses as I approach a couple of groups of people just hanging outside on a Sunday. It's not that I'm being all paranoid, but it's the fact that kids in my hood are packing heat these days instead of knives. Also, I'm pretty sure kids in general don't spend a lot of time practicing at a shooting range. This was evident a few years ago when a couple of teenagers decide go all John Woo style a few blocks from my apartment. A 12-year old riding his bike was struck and bled to death and a metro bus driver was also clipped on the shoulder.

Maybe it's because I was no longer hungry as I finished the last of my fried yuca, but I was thinking that maybe it's not so bad. I mean things could be much worse if I were living in a Hamas neighborhood. Yeah, a 9mm round sucks, but it pretty damn hard for me to avoid a laser guided missile or bomb. It would be equally bad if I couldn't take the bus because assholes are blowing them up. I had to cut myself off from thinking too much about it. If people want to fight, fine. Just break out your scimitars and butterfly knives, so people can watch on FOX TV and be entertained.
